Thames Lock Offices

One of the most beautiful locations Earthy Developments has had the pleasure of working in, this restoration project was completed for the Environment Agency across three separate lock office sites along the River Thames.

Delivered during late 2023 and early 2024, the project presented challenging conditions, with our team working through freezing temperatures and rising flood waters to ensure the programme stayed on track.

The works included the replacement of traditional cedar shingle roofs on the lock houses, asbestos removal, re-tiling of a Victorian welfare hut, electrical repairs and upgrades, and extensive repairs and redecorations to a number of outbuildings across the sites.

Throughout the project, we coordinated closely with a range of skilled trades to ensure all works were completed sympathetically and in keeping with the character of the surrounding area. Working in such a unique riverside environment, surrounded by wildlife and historic structures, made this a particularly rewarding project for the entire team.
